Don W. Stacks, Ph.D - Associate Dean for Faculty Support & Creative Support, School of Communication, University of Miami

Dr. Stacks received his Ph.D. in communication studies from the University of Florida. He has earned numerous academic and professional awards for teaching and research. At the University of Miami his awards include "Professor of the Year" and "Provost's Award for Scholarly Activity." His professional recognitions include the three highest awards an academic can get from the public relations profession: the "Pathfinder Award" for programmatic research, the "Jackson Jackson and Wagner Award" for applied research, and the Public Relations Society of America's "Educator of the Year" award. He was also named as a "Measurement Maven" by The Measurement Standard. In addition, Dr. Stacks was recently inducted into the first Research Fellows of the Institute for Public Relations, was elected an Eastern Communication Association Research Fellow in 2007 and most recently elected as an Eastern Communication Association Teaching Fellow in 2008, both awards are based on life-time accomplishments in communication.

Dr. Stacks’ background is based primarily in corporate/governmental public relations and consulting. He has authored and edited numerous books, book chapters, and articles. His most recent works are in the area of public relations measurement and evaluation and include the Primer of Public Relations Research (Guilford Press, now in its second edition) and the Dictionary of Public Relations Measurement and Research, which has been translated into several languages.

Dr. Stacks serves on a number of academic and professional review boards. He is a Trustee for the Institute for Public Relations, an elected member of the International Public Relations Association, and chairs the Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication’s (AEJMC) Elected Standing Committee on Research and serves on the AEJMC Board of Directions. In addition, he is a member of the national Commission on Public Relations Measurement and Evaluation and former research chair for the Commission on Public Relations Education. He currently directs the nation's largest public relations research conference, the International Public Relations Research Conference. He serves as a senior advisor to Echo Research, an international public relations/corporate communications research company and has consulted for top Fortune companies in matters ranging from communication audits to crisis management to marketing research.

Dr. Stacks' research interests include crisis management, public relations theory and methodology, nonverbal communication, persuasion, intercultural communication, listening in the corporate environment, and biosocial/neurocommunication research.

Arie Nauvel Iskandar - Senior Manager External Relations, Santos Oil and Gas Indonesia

Born on 24 March, Arie Nauvel Iskandar obtained Master degree in Communications Management from the University of Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia. He works as External Relations Manager in Santos, a major Australian energy company with assets of over $5billion and annual production of 57.3 million barrels of oil equivalent, the business of which, is oil and gas exploration and production with interests in every major Australian petroleum province, while in Indonesia, Santos has two producing field in East Java; Maleo which produces gas to supply PGN, and Oyong produces oil and gas - the gas from Oyong to supply IP power plant in Grati, Pasuruan.

With more than 13 years experience in the field of Government relations, CSR, Public Relations, Media Relations, Industrial Relations, NGO’s networking (Academician, Technical Bodies, Funding Agencies), Arie has thoroughly experienced in organizing activities, campaign and events related to employees, media and public as well as dealing with the crisis management.

At the moment, Arie is responsible for external relations fields including Corporate Communications, CSR, Public Relations, Government Relations, and Media Relations, and has succeded to assist Santos activities in Indonesia since 2003 (Riau, East Java, and Bali). Dr Tulus Tahi Hamonangan TAMBUNAN is a professor in the Faculty of Economics, Trisakti University. He was graduated and obtained his PhD in Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In 2006 he established a research institute, i.e. the Center for Industry, SME and Business Competition in the same university, and currently he is the chairman of the Center. Besides these jobs, currently he is also the head of the faculty research board, Faculty of Economics, University of Trisakti, and the associated country researcher for the World Economic Forum (WEF), Geneva.

His interest areas of research are especially micro, small and medium enterprises, industrialization and development of industry, poverty, economic crisis and international trade. His past employment experiences include as senior policy researcher in UNDP; Jakarta Office; country researcher, GTZ; head of research division, Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry or Kadin Indonesia; county research fellow, Bangkok Research Institute/JETRO (Bangkok); country Research fellow, UN-ESCAP (Bangkok); lecturer in post graduate program, State University of Sriwijaya (Palembang), head of research team, Indonesian Small Business Research Center (ISBRC); lecturer (undergraduate), Faculty of Economics, USNI; lecturer (post graduate program), Faculty of Economics, STIE Nusantara; and assistant professor, School of Business (MBA), Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Dr. Dorien Kartikawangi – Catholic University of Atma Jaya, Jakarta

 

Dorien Kartikawangi is a senior lecturer and researcher at Faculty of Business Administration and Communication Sciences, Atma Jaya Catholic University, Jakarta. Hold a doctorate degree from the University of Indonesia, majoring in Communication Science. She also shares her knowledge at Communication Department, Postgraduate class, the University of Indonesia as a lecturer and teach Communication Strategic Management: planning and evaluation. Her work has addressed organizational communication issues. Currently, her work focuses on internal as well as external corporate communication issues, historical and contemporary, as well as local and global with the touch of information communication technology. Dr. Kartikawangi’s research has been published in several journals, presented on national and international conference, also in edited books. Along these line, she also responsible as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the faculty, and managing director of “Rumah Pengetahuan Kartika Kusuma”

Hifni Alifahmi yang sehari-hari biasa disapa dengan Fahmi ini menggeluti bidang studi media (media studies), komunikasi pemasaran (marketing communications) dan komunikasi korporat (corporate communications) di tataran konsep dan dunia praktis. Setelah sekitar 17 tahun menjalani pengalaman profesi sebagai staf pengajar, konsultan, dan praktisi komunikasi pemasaran sekaligus komunikasi korporat atau Public Relations di perusahaan pemimpin pasar, maka pada 2007 ia mendirikan Spirit Marketing Communications yang bergerak di dunia pelatihan, riset, serta konsultan PR dan komunikasi pemasaran.

Pengalaman profesionalnya dimulai sebagai staf pengajar di almamaternya FISIP-UI pada 1989-1991 sebagai asisten Dr. Martani Huseini untuk matakuliah Strategic Management dan Pemasaran Internasional, sekaligus sebagai periset dan penulis di InterUniverisity Center-Social Sciences UI. Mulai 2008 kembali mengajar di Program Magister Manajemen Komunikasi UI. Sebelumnya sebagai konsultan di PT Bina Inti Muda Utama, Applied Management Consulting (1990-1992). Lalu menjadi External Relations Manager di PT Indofood Interna Corp (1992-1994), Corporate Communications Manager PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (1994-2000), Public Relations Manager Indofood di Divisi Children Foods (2001-2002), serta Corporate Secretary dan Staf Khusus Direksi Bidang Komunikasi Korporat/Produk di Bank Syariah Mandiri (akhir 2002-2006). Selain itu, ia menjadi Associate Senior Consultant (Government Public Relations/Strategic Communications) di Bamboedoea Communications.

Keseriusan mendalami studi dan profesi di bidang komunikasi diperlihatkan ketika merampungkan program MM Komunikasi UI pada 1996 dengan tesis mengenai Audit Strategi Komunikasi Pemasaran semasa bekerja di Indofood, dan pada 2011 ini meyelesaikan program S3 Komunikasi UI dalam waktu kurang dari tiga tahun dengan predikat cumlaude (disertasi mengenai Media Frame Building Privatisasi Bank BUMN). Irmulan Sati T. Jauhari, SH, MSi, was born in Jember, East Java, July 30th 1973, has completed the first graduate in the Faculty of Law, University of Jember (1996) and post graduate in Communications Management at University of Indonesia (1999).

Working as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Communication Science at Mercu Buana University, Jakarta. Had been a Secretary and Chairman of Public Relations Studies Program at FIKOM UMB (2001-2008). Nowadays as Head of University Secretariat & Public Relations Bureau University of Mercu Buana University Jakarta (2008-present).

Actively involved as members and administrators in professional organizations PERHUMAS (Public Relations Association of Indonesia), from 2001-present. As well as a consultant and author of Public Relations for government agencies and private. And also concern as the activator of multicultural education through intercultural communication campaigns.

Before serving as Vice President HR & Administration Kangean Energy Indonesia, Nugroho was the General Manager HR & GA of PT. Chandra Asri. Nugroho served PT.
